Concord Engineering has been awarded Drexel University’s Energy Master Plan project. The scope of the project includes more than 7,633,000 square feet, incorporating four campuses. Concord Engineering is a member of the International District Energy Association (IDEA).
The University’s vision for the plan includes comfort, performance and redundancy with minimum operating cost. Drexel’s University City, Health Science Campus Operations, Queen Lane and The Academy of Natural Sciences locations will all be analyzed as part of the project.
Concord Engineering will be evaluating the University’s energy usage, identifying significant energy users and energy conservation measures, as well as providing order of magnitude cost/benefit analyses to facilitate prioritization of those opportunities. The effort will require a detailed review and evaluation of all campus energy supply contracts for electricity, natural gas and steam.
Concord has also developed similar energy/utility master plans for other higher education clients including Princeton University, the University of Florida, Rowan University and Montclair State University.
Said Michael Fischette, CEO of Concord Engineering, “We appreciate this great opportunity to assist Drexel in any sustainable and energy efficient expansion efforts that will be aligned with growth in its academic and residential infrastructure.”
