District Energy Space

Each year since 1990, IDEA has asked all of our member systems to provide information on buildings that committed or recommitted to district energy service during the previous calendar year. We are now actively compiling data for the calendar year 2008.

We publish the data and an editorial summary in the annual report, District Energy Space, which will be distributed as a printed document at our Annual Conference and will also be available here on the DE Space page of the IDEA website as a PDF format file.

Your information published in District Energy Space helps IDEA tabulate the growth experienced by member systems – and can be a valuable marketing tool for your organization. All organizations submitting entries will receive a Certificate of Participation. Also, during the 2009 IDEA Centennial Conference in Washington, D.C., IDEA will congratulate and present awards to those systems submitting the greatest amount of total square footage and the greatest number of total buildings for the calendar year 2008 for both North America and Beyond North America.

Deadline

The deadline for submitting 2008 data is end-of-business, Friday, April 3, 2009.

How to Submit

Please use IDEA’s special spreadsheet, available here, to submit your entries. Please carefully enter all data in the Excel spreadsheet (be sure to provide all requested information) and re-name and re-save the file with your system’s name.

If you're sending photos, please be sure the filenames reflect the building names. This greatly facilitates preparation of the final document. The Excel file and photos should be emailed to len.idea@districtenergy.org.
