The cover photo is of an actual cross-section that shows the vortices (eddies) generated on the back of downstream side of the vortex shedder bar bluff body in a vortex meter. Vortex meters detect gas, steam and liquid flow by counting the gneration of these eddies and transmitting them as a digital signal.
