Efficiency Improvement in District Cooling System using Direct Condensation

06-15-2017 13:30

Summary

The presentation illustrates the innovative design recently applied to the Abdali District Cooling Plant (Jordan). Due to non-water availability, the system was designed with air cooled chillers. However, several state-of-the-art technologies have been successfully developed to achieve the same efficiency as a water cooled system but with zero water consumption. These technologies include: direct condensation with industrial chillers, the use of natural refrigerant, and the implementation of The Largest Thermal Energy Storage in Middle East.
