How Did the University of Alaska Fairbanks Get a New CHP Plant?

Summary

The University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF) is constructing a new CHP plant to replace 50 year old coal boilers with new coal/biomass boilers. The project has obtained an air permit and full funding and is currently under design.  This presentation will cover planning, permitting, funding strategies as well as the design of the new facility.  It will also show how the University leveraged its influence to obtain funding.
