Maintaining Energy Efficiency & Extending Service Life of Pre-Insulated Pipes

06-16-2017 11:06

Summary

Pre-Insulated Pipe systems for district energy networks, they are insulated with rigid polyurethane PUR foam which provides mechanical and structural properties with a very low thermal conductivity, Studies have shown that the service life of pre-insulated pipes can be shortened by oxidative degradation of PUR. Adding EVOH layer to the outside plastic pipe casing in order to eliminate air diffusion into the foam, and increases the potential service life of the system.
