University of Pittsburgh: Partnering for Microgrid Success

06-29-2017 20:49

Summary

The University of Pittsburgh's Center for Energy is working with industry, utility, and community partners to design, implement, and analyze microgrid deployment in the Pittsburgh Region. Specifically, the Center has undertaken two microgrid build-out projects, the construction of an off-campus high voltage AC/DC labratory space, graduate student feasibility research projects, and serves as technical lead for the City of Pittsburgh on its District Energy Initiative. A presentation would outline all of the activities happening at The Center for Energy, including details on PItt's role in a sustainable energy transition. Microgrid projects in development would be outlined.
