Water and Energy Conservation with Ozone Treatment of Cooling Towers

07-03-2017 09:54

Summary

Cooling towers use from 40% to 80% of a facility’s water. Methods for conserving water on cooling systems then can have a major impact on Water Resource Conservation. Reducing tower bleed and even reusing this water can significantly reduce water usage. Further, the impact of biofilm on water cooled condenser heat transfer surfaces in an electric driven chiller plant and the associated increase in electrical usage – water conservation methods that also address biofilm then can provide an Optimization Strategy where the facility is now conserving both water and energy.
