Installation Energy Manager (McGuire & Dix)
Location: Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, NJ (Fort Dix Annex)
Salary Range: $85,236 - $132,807 per year
Position Grade: GS-11/12
Discipline: Mechanical Engineering (0830) or Electrical Engineering (0850)

Job Description:
- Utilizes a professional knowledge of electrical and/or mechanical engineering to manage an installation Energy Program mandated to reduce overall energy consumption for existing facilities and utility systems, as well as new construction, and/or renovation/improvement projects.
- Manages utility contracts, agreements, metering, and utility budget development.
- Manages the Installation Energy Plan and key member for the Installation Climate Resilience Plan.
- Provides professional advice on sustainable design and energy efficiency practices.
- Perform Design reviews for compliance with federal requirements and United Facilities Criteria (DoD building code).
- Keeps abreast of emerging technologies, regulatory requirements, and best practices to ensure that facility equipment, projects, and strategies remain relevant and functional.
This position is part of the wider Federal effort for energy efficiency, resiliency and electrification. We are also involved with Electric Vehicle planning for charging locations, manage Energy Savings Performance Contracts.
Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst spans 42,000 acres and is the Department of Defense’s only tri-service base. This base hosts over 40,000 people living and working on the installation and includes 88 mission partners.
Requirements:
US Citizen
ABET accredited engineering degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
Preferred qualifications:
Certified Energy Manager
Engineer-In-Training
Professional Engineer license (any state)
