Sustainable energy and energy reduction goals are driving the need for more accurate and smart BTU metering. A BTU meter consists of flow and temperature measurement. These can be contained in one meter or multiple packages. FLEXIM services has long been engaged in calibrations of BTU meters. We find many BTU meters with high errors. These meters are often in billing scenarios where accurate metering is important. Why are BTU meters inaccurate in the first place? How do I know if my BTU meter is accurate? Izzy Rivera has been involved with the development of ultrasonic flow measurement for 40 years. He is a co-founder of Flexim Americas a subsidiary of Flexim GmbH, a Berlin based company that specializes in the manufacturer of flow measurement and process analytical instruments. Izzy was involved in the development of the 1st fully integrated ultrasonic BTU meter.
