Microgrids are Bringing Certainty to Healthcare

11-09-2017 13:26

Summary

Healthcare facilities have a long history of effective emergency backup generation through investment, regulations, and testing. However, the normal supply from the grid has not provided the cost consistency, reliability, and resilience often needed by healthcare facilities teams to provide the certainty expected by the healthcare professionals and executives to support a growing healthcare service. In addition to reducing costs, improving reliability, and reducing emissions, microgrids provide healthcare facilities a way to tailor the energy system to grow as the facilities grow, avoid competing with other pressing capital projects, and enhance the healthcare reputation in the local community.
