Summary

Microgrids contribute a highly important combination of attributes to microgrid systems: a reliable supply of both electrical and thermal energy at low cost. The presentation will provide evidence for this assertion via 6 case studies for CHP systems in the 150-kW to 10-MW range. The case study data presented will include performance, cost, and financial data. Examples of how the financial results are likely to vary at sites at five other geographic locations -- because of variations in 1) available incentives, and 2) electricity and fuel costs -- will also be presented.
