Summary

Colleges and Universities are embracing energy modernization on campuses around the U.S., knowing that there has to be a better and more sustainable way to generate and consume energy. Hear from the campus energy decision maker at Northeastern University on how they plan to implement a customized microgrid solution focused on resiliency. This session will detail the development process and how Northeastern scoped this resiliency project – including energy conservation measures, solar, cogeneration, and battery energy storage. The discussion will provide a blueprint of the steps for microgrid planning and analysis, new center plant location assessment and planning, how to navigate the challenges around local policies and regulations, and preliminary schematic design.
