Raising sustainability of operations is top of mind for many institutions – energy from renewable sources is expected to make up 26 percent of total energy generation by 2030 in the U.S. (EIA 2018) As the industry grows and matures, there are now more and more ways to bring renewable energy into your operation.

In this session, we will expand outside of just integrating traditional renewable technologies at the district cooling plant and dive deep into how such customers could benefit from the growing pool of renewable energy procurement options including Virtual Power Purchase Agreements (VPPA). Attendees will learn how to create a holistic renewable energy plan, key considerations and requirements to maximize impact of renewable procurement.

Presenter: Beau Griffey

Beau is responsible for executive-level energy account support, including recommending physical/financial purchasing strategies, demand-side management, renewable energy and sustainability improvement opportunities. He has held a variety of positions in Business Development, Consulting, Mergers & Acquisitions, Sales, Management, Trading, Startup Commercialization and Sustainability at public and private energy corporations.

Beau is a Certified Energy Manager and Energy Procurement Professional. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in History from University of Central Missouri and an MBA with emphasis in Finance from Rockhurst University Helzberg School of Management.
