Masking

Masks are still required in all public settings if:

  • You are returning from international travel
  • You are a close contact of someone with COVID-19. ...
  • You have symptoms of COVID-19 or test positive.
As of May, the City of Toronto no longer requires masks to be worn, though certain establishments throughout the city might require masks.

At this time, the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel does not require masks throughout the facility, including the meeting rooms. Hotel employees are not required to wear masks.

As a result, while it is ultimately a personal choice for attendees as to whether to wear a mask or not, IDEA will strongly encourage mask wearing at the event, IDEA will provide disposable masks onsite, though we strongly encourage you to bring your own as well.

Travel To Canada - ArriveCAN

Canada requires that anyone entering the country be fully vaccinated, with your second shot being more than 14 days before traveling to Canada (fully vaxxed is considered 2 shots Moderna or Pfizer, or one shot Johnson and Johnson). To find out if you qualify to enter Canada, visit the travel eligibility website here.

All international travelers (flying or driving) must use the ArriveCAN app to provide mandatory travel information within 72 hours before your entry into Canada (and not before). Canada requires proof of COVID-19 vaccine to be uploaded to ArriveCAN before entry. Pre-entry COVID test are no longer required.

You can find it by looking for "ArriveCAN" in your mobile app store or on the ArriveCan website. Once there, you will be asked to create an account, submit travel document (for example, passport), proof of vaccination, and complete the ArriveCAN form.

We strongly recommend creating your account in ArriveCAN well in advance, then 72 hours before travel, upload your vaccination information.

Make sure to download the “ArriveCAN” app on the cell phone that you will be carrying during travel to Canada.  We also suggest setting a reminder notice in your calendar to prompt uploading of vaccine information.

Travel From Canada/Going Home

If you are traveling back home to the U.S., the State Department requires that you will need to provide proof of a negative COVID test before your flight (if you are driving back to the States, proof of negative test is not required).. This test is required to be taken one day in advance of departure back to the US (and other foreign countries who might require it).

As a result, IDEA will be providing COVID testing onsite at no cost to attendees.

The entire process from registration to testing will take approximately 5 minutes, the test consisting of a simple mouth swab taken in the York room on the hotel's Mezzanine Level. Once testing is administered, a certificate will be sent within a few hours of testing with your results and your negative Antigen certificate from the testing company. You will show this to the airline before you board your flight.

Onsite Testing will be available at the following times:

Tuesday, June 7 from 7AM to 6:30PM

Wednesday, June 8 from 7AM to 6:30PM

Thursday, June 9 from 7AM to 3:00PM
