the inventor of district heating and the slip-type expansion joint. ADSCO was
started in 1877 when Birdsill Holly invented the first slip joint (called the
variator at the time) and the first district heating system in Lockport, NY.
Today ADSCO is still the world leader in designing and fabricating any slip-type
expansion joint and metal bellows expansion joints (Slip-Type, Externally
Pressurized, non-equalized bellows, equalized bellows, hinged, gimbal, tied,
pressure balanced, non-metallic, rectangular; CRN, ASME, EJMA design capable).
