The presentation will describe two community microgrids and compare their value propositions (i.e., economics to both owner(s) and users). One microgrid will feature a solar PV array, battery storage, and two engine-generators, and controls software. The other will be identical except a CHP system will replace the engine-generators. The community to be served consists of a five critical facilities that need to remain fully functional during an extended power outage: a nursing home, a convenience store and gas station, and two key public safety facilities (Emergency Command Center and Fire Station).
