Governance Models and Strategic Decision-Making Processes for Deploying Thermal Grids

06-19-2017 11:58

Summary

The changing global energy landscape faces a variety of challenges in providing the energy infrastructure needed to meet the electricity, heating, and cooling needs of an energy-driven world. A great deal of attention has been paid to addressing the challenges on the electricity side, but the thermal side does not get the attention it needs.

District energy (DE) systems are local energy networks that provide multiple buildings with hot water/steam ("district heating") and/or chilled water ("district cooling"). DE systems are recognized worldwide for advancing social, environmental, urban sustainability and economic development objectives, while providing economic value to the communities, cities, campuses and districts they serve.

Governance Models and Success Strategies for Developing Thermal Grids Workshop
