Delta College had outgrown its’ chiller plant and wanted to increase capacity while reducing energy use, cost, and their carbon footprint. Working with Trane, the college completed central cooling system upgrades adding high-efficiency chillers in a more efficient variable primary system by adding variable speed drives and additional thermal energy storage. These improvements efficiently address its growing enrollment while reducing the facility’s overall carbon footprint. They helped meet sustainability and energy conservation objectives and save over $150,000 in annual energy costs.
