The Architect of the Capitol initiated an Energy Audit of the United States Capitol Power Plant (CPP) located in Washington, DC. The CPP provides heating and cooling to the Capitol Hill campus and has a 36,000-ton chilled water system, 420,000 PPH steam system, and a 7.5 MW of CHP system. From analyzing plant operations and trended data, 14 energy conservation measures were identified with over $3.5 million in annual savings.
