Coordinating Operations of a 4- plant District Energy System

09-19-2023 12:10

Session Abstract

A chiller plant dispatch model was developed to help UW map out the path to over $1 Million in savings without major work in the plants.  A year into the implementation, we will share our successes and challenges that range from load profile changes due to COVID response, to predictive maintenance, to interfacing three control and SCADA platforms, to cultural shifts required of two different organizations manually controlling four operating plants.
