Using geothermal heat directly from warm or hot aquifers is proven for heating buildings and industrial processes and has potential to play a very significant role in decarbonizing the energy used at campuses across North America. From Jacobs' global experience, we describe the technology used and present examples that demonstrate the proven viability of these methods, indicate the scale of application now underway internationally and what may be possible for North America for campus applications.
