Session Abstract

The WaterHub ® at the University of Texas at Austin (UT) is an eco-engineered wastewater reclamation and reuse system located on the campus of the UT. The WaterHub is designed to intercept and reclaim municipal wastewater from the city for reuse in power generation and cooling tower makeup. The system will reclaim up to 1 million gallons of wastewater per day, reducing the campus’s potable water demands by 40% and sewer contributions by 75%.

The WaterHub meets the University’s specific goals including redundant (N+1) source of makeup water for critical utility operations as well as academic and research opportunities.
