Session Abstract

The presentation will cover a study on the technical feasibility of a net-zero energy residential community energy system in Alberta, Canada, with more than 1000 units. Community design and home energy-efficiency standard were addressed in this study as the first steps for the concept development of the renewable energy system. Various technology scenarios are evaluated in terms of energy performance and total required area for installation of solar energy panels, both photovoltaic and solar thermal.
