Session Abstract

Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) CanmetENERGY is supporting the Department of National Defense (DND) to assess technology options for modernizing existing central heating plants and heating networks in operation on DND bases across Canada, towards achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. This session will present a general overview of the project and modelling approach, along with results of the technology integration scenarios and life-cycle cost analyses completed for five bases, highlighting notable challenges, opportunities, and projected impacts.
