Session Abstract

Heritage buildings, 24/7 operations, seasonal constraints, these are all the reality of existing buildings connected to district energy systems (DES). When buildings need retrofits due to changes in the DES, what strategies can we put in place to plan and implement this work. Through case studies as part of a $2.1B DES Modernization in Ottawa, Jeff will present techniques using existing data, digital modeling tools and construction optimization to ease the anxiety around building conversions.
