Session Abstract

Austin Energy partnered with Austin Community College (ACC) to provide a new district cooling plant to support the growth, development and sustainability goals of the revitalized ACC Highland Campus. The 4,500-ton plant incorporated a 1.8M gallon thermal energy storage tank for demand shifting and a well water system for added savings and redundancy. The plant included a robust PLC controls system with provisions for fully remote operation.
