Capital Planning for District Geothermal and How to Avoid Missed Opportunities

08-08-2023 15:53

Session Abstract

Capital costs often represent the primary hurdle to district geothermal projects, despite the low total cost of ownership. To reduce these barriers, federal and state governments are increasingly offering grants, rebates, property-assessed clean energy (PACE) financing, and other subsidies. Despite reducing capital costs, incentives can be difficult to navigate and add complexity to the capital stack. As a district geothermal developer, Endurant will share challenges, opportunities and lessons learned from financing projects.
