Session Abstract

Heritage buildings, 24/7 operations, seasonal constraints, these are all the reality of existing buildings connected to district energy systems (DES). Significate retrofits are needed within buildings to accommodate de-carbonizing modernization changes in DES operation. Through case studies as part of a $2.5B DES Modernization in Ottawa, Jeff and Phil will present post construction findings on building performance as well as commissioning and handover lessons learned.
