As utilities look to decrease their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, many are looking to hydrogen blending in the natural gas grid as a way to meet emissions targets. Natural gas assets, including pipeline and combined cycle plants, are under study to determine the effects of increasing percentages of hydrogen blends. Benefits and challenges of blending hydrogen into the natural gas grid will be discussed as well as the latest emerging studies being conducted.
