Thompson Rivers University Low-Carbon DES – Achieving a Fossil Fuel Free Campus by 2030

08-16-2023 10:21

Session Abstract

Creative Energy is developing a Low-Carbon District Energy System at Thompson Rivers University to enable them to become fossil fuel free before 2030. The LCDES will utilize a 2-stage air-source/water-source heat pump system that can seamlessly integrate with existing buildings, provide renewable infrastructure for future growth, and serve the neighbouring City-owned Olympic size recreational facility. The LCDES will offset 100,000 tonnes of GHGs over 30 years, providing a 95% reduction in emissions from connected buildings.
