Infrastructure Improvements Aim to Reduce Consumption and GhG on Hampton University Campus

08-16-2023 11:39

Session Abstract

Hampton engaged Bernhard to modernize its campus’ thermal infrastructure and advance decarbonization initiatives. The program includes centralization of chilled water islands and replacement of the aging steam loop with a high efficiency heating water district. Hampton is on path to reduce utility consumption by 46% and CO2E emissions by 37% against 2020 baselines. The session demonstrates the critical part district energy plays in helping Hampton accomplish its core mission while providing meaningful carbon reductions.
