Session Abstract

Creative Energy’s steam system has been providing heat and hot water to downtown Vancouver for over 50 years.  As part of the revitalization of the steam plant, Creative Energy is installing baseload electric steam boilers which will displace the combustion of natural gas.  The boilers will be connected directly to BC Hydro’s transmission network which is fed by hydroelectric dams.  The project will result in significant emissions reductions with minimal rate impacts for customers.
