Steam systems have traditionally been used in hospitals to serve a wide variety of loads including space heating, outdoor air heating, humidifcation, domestic hot water, snow/ice melting and process loads such as those found in SPD, Food Service and Laundries including active regeneration of dessicant dehumidification equipment required for OR’s. Some of these steam loads are constant throughout the year such as the domestic hot water and all the process loads while other steam loads such as space heating, outdoor air heating, humidification and snow/ice melting vary over the four seasons.
This presentation will introduce and explain, in detail, several techniques that can improve the efficiency of a system up into the mid-ninety's.
