A new approach of portfolio energy management for university campus has been developed by revitalizing ESCO model to leverage in-house expertise and financing combined with specialists in significant energy conservation solutions. We define and implement projects that result in large energy reductions across campuses. For example, we use heat recovery chiller to transform a traditional run around loop exhaust air heat recovery into a active heat recovery system in a lab building, the resulting performance in energy savings is 32% and carbon reduction is 82%. The superfluous heat from the building also adding redundancy via nodal plant network for a university campus increases system resilience.
