Session Abstract

Creative Energy is developing a Low-Carbon District Energy System (LCDES) at Thompson Rivers University (TRU) to enable them to achieve carbon neutrality before 2030. The LCDES will utilize a 2-stage air-source/water-source heat pump system that can seamlessly integrate with existing buildings, where TRU will then decommission their existing building-scale gas boilers as buildings connect. The LCDES will offset 100,000 tonnes of GHGs over 30 years, providing a 95% reduction in emissions from connected buildings.
