Summary

One of EMPOWER’s major operational goals is to conserve valuable resources by achieving the maximum efficiency in terms of water consumptions of its district cooling plants. Reverse osmosis filtration technology was implemented in Empower to recycle 70% of the cooling towers blowdown water and reuse it back in the cooling process as part of the make-up water. This application resulted in reducing water wastage and indirectly reducing the make-up water requirement of the cooling towers
