Session Abstract

Based on the experience acquired in the EU-funded UpgradeDH project, where several strategies to improve the performance of DH systems across Europe were reviewed, digital and analytics tools to support decision making and management proved to be key enablers to achieve better operations, drive strategic and tactical development, reduce carbon footprint and foster renewable integration, with extremely competitive financial returns. The key findings of the project (supported by a few selected additional experiences) will be presented, to demonstrate available and actionable digital opportunities to drive DHC future developments and exploit fully its potential as key asset for the decarbonisation process while increasing value and profits
