University of Washington: Balancing Reliability and Sustainability with DRUPS

08-08-2023 10:44

Session Abstract

The University of Washington relies on its aging central plant for critical services. Meanwhile, the University’s sustainability goals are spurring a reevaluation of how the plant provides reliable energy. The Power Plant Infrastructure Renewal Project replaces aging plant equipment with a more reliable technology and contributes to the University’s sustainability goals. This presentation focuses on the selection of the Diesel Rotary UPS technology and the engineering challenges encountered during design.
