CHPs - Getting What You Paid For

Session Abstract

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) has recently installed a combined heat and power (CHP) system consisting of two new combustion turbines and heat recover steam generators.  As expected, extensive planning and thought went into this endeavor, which included the process of testing and commissioning.  For a project of this magnitude and importance, MIT wanted an equally robust testing process to verify that they, in fact, got what they paid for.  This case study identifies the ASME Performance Test Code process used for contractual guarantees.
