Session Abstract

Markham District Energy (MDE), the winner of the 2013 IDEA System of the Year, and FVB Energy (FVB), District Energy Consultants with 30 years of Canadian experience, have been working together since MDEs inception in 1998 to develop one of Canada’s fasted growing district energy systems which now serves over 13 million sq. ft. of customers in downtown Markham and Cornell Centre. With 2050 net zero targets approaching, MDE and FVB have devised a strategic energy  plan to make significant strides towards those GHG reduction targets while capturing 100% of all new buildings as Markham Centre continues to grow to an expected 30 million sq. ft. by 2050.
