The Brutalist Truth: How UMass Dartmouth Developed their Plan for Decarbonization

09-13-2023 10:52

Session Abstract

Driven by the State of Massachusetts Executive Order 484 and their ACUPCC commitment, UMass Dartmouth embarked to develop a plan to achieve carbon neutrality. The campus consists of 2.3 MGSF of largely brutalist architecture buildings that are heated from a steam based central plant which includes a gas turbine. A summary of the energy master plan will be shared along with three guiding principles that were identified.
