The Use of Geothermal Direct Heat in District Energy Systems

08-29-2023 11:03

Session Abstract

Using geothermal heat directly from warm or hot aquifers is proven for heating buildings and industrial processes from decades of application, and has potential to play a very significant role in decarbonizing the energy used in our urban and industrial environments.   From Jacobs global experience we describe the technology used and present examples that demonstrate the proven viability of these methods and indicate the scale of application now underway internationally and what may be possible for North America.
