Session Abstract

Description:District energy allows municipalities to decarbonize on larger scales. The Town of Oakville completed a Community Energy Strategy (CES) which highlighted district energy as a key component to achieve emissions reductions. A pre-feasibility study identified and studied opportunity areas for district energy and how these systems could expand to serve the wider community. The Town is moving forward to study two areas in more detail on the path to realize the goals of the CES.
