Thermal Distribution Workshop

Monday, February 14, 1:00 pm-5:00 pm and Tuesday, February 15, 8:00 am-4:00 pm

This in-depth workshop will enable utilities directors, system designers, operators, and safety professionals to develop an in-depth knowledge of the technology, operations and maintenance of district heating and cooling thermal distribution systems on campuses, in communities and cities. With a focus on best practices and peer exchange, the workshop format enables deeper discussion among industry professionals responsible for design, construction, maintenance and optimization of underground steam, hot water and chilled water piping systems. Attendees can expect real-world case examples and active dialogue among experienced industry professionals. Key takeaways will include proven approaches for delivering highly reliable service and customer satisfaction with an emphasis on safety and emergency preparedness and response. Microgrid Workshop

Tuesday, February 15, 8:00 am-4:00 pm

This workshop will feature experienced industry experts in the design, operation and optimization of community-scale microgrids, including integration with combined heat and power and district energy systems as core foundations. Using real-world cases, the workshop format will enable interaction and discussion of best practices and scenarios. The workshop will cover microgrid design, mitigating disaster, integrating renewables and new technologies, operating and optimizing a microgrid and microgrid business models. Participants will discuss how to plan and build a microgrid to enhance resiliency including key drivers and hurdles. A special panel will discuss how microgrids create customer value, enhance business continuity and strengthen safety and security in the North East. Additional Fee Applies.
