This in-depth workshop will enable utilities directors, system designers, operators, and safety professionals to develop an in-depth knowledge of the technology, operations and maintenance of district heating and cooling thermal distribution systems on campuses, in communities and cities.   With a focus on best practices and peer exchange, the workshop format enables deeper discussion among industry professionals responsible for design, construction, maintenance and optimization of underground steam, hot water and chilled water piping systems.  Attendees can expect real-world case examples and active dialogue among experienced industry professionals. IDEA campus energy professionals are faced with evaluating multiple pathways to cleaner, more resilient systems, including technologies like nuclear, hydrogen and renewables. This workshop will explore topics like small modular reactors; hydrogen integration; industrial heat pumps and electric boilers to enable robust peer dialogue of pros/cons; risks/rewards; timings and strategic considerations.
