The International District Energy Association (IDEA) is pleased to partner with Dubai Carbon Centre of Excellence for special recognition of the combined achievements of the District Cooling industry in the Middle East in advancing efficient energy for smarter cities.

District cooling is recognized as a proven and key climate solution for cities. The district cooling industry in the Middle East has played a vital role in increasing energy efficiency and reducing regional emissions of CO2.

A Group Carbon Champions Award will be presented to all participating district cooling companies at a special ceremony at the Gala Dinner on Monday December 10, 2018 at the upcoming DistrictCooling2018 Conference “Efficient Energy for Smarter Cities”, December 9-11, 2018, at The Atlantis, The Palm, Dubai, UAE.

The Dubai Carbon Centre of Excellence (Dubai Carbon) was established by an agreement between the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy (DSCE) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

In support of the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050, launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to transform Dubai in to an international hub for clean energy and green economy, the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy is working towards the implementation of the energy Demand Side Management strategy, which features nine programmes including district cooling that contribute to the sustainable development of Dubai.
