Is Bigger Always Better? Evaluating Central vs. Distributed Generation in System Expansions

09-27-2023 12:55

Session Abstract

The selection and placement of equipment in district energy systems impacts efficiency, resiliency, operations, and capital/lifecycle cost.  Equipment location/configuration affects maintenance complexity and expense, system flexibility, and scalability.  Considering the use of modular Off-Site Construction (OSC) techniques can provide unique advantages in certain applications. Advantages of a modular, satellite installation are described for a manufacturing plant expansion. What’s best for your application?
