Decarbonizing Oberlin College: Discoveries from Phase 1

09-19-2023 12:18

Session Abstract

Oberlin College is committed to carbon neutrality by 2025. The program took significant steps in 2021 with the first phase of construction and by issuing $80M of Certified Climate Bonds. Oberlin converted its South Campus from steam to low-temperature hot water, while also investing in chilled water, electrical, fiber, and fire protection. Meghan Riesterer from Oberlin College and Michael Ahern from Ever-Green Energy will share discoveries from phase 1 and next steps toward carbon neutrality.
