This presentation will discuss the development of a 50-year utility master plan at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). UIC has two CHP plants: one per East and West Campus. The plan evaluated existing load growth, performed a condition assessment of the utility generation and distribution assets, and developed options to maintain firm capacity. Options were developed to upgrade the critical power MicroGrid that supplies power to the campus, hospital, and critical research buildings.
